Holding a fiber type specimen under tension makes it easy to insert a microelectrode.

Insertion of a microelectrode into muscle or nerve fibers is very difficult. This apparatus makes it easy by gripping both ends of the muscle or nerve fiber, stretching it and then holding it under tension. Using the tweezers mounted on the ball joint, both ends of fibers of any length can be held, and moved in the Y-or Z-axis. Also attached is a stand, which allows vertical adjustment and on which the specimen is placed.
