Narishige's MA-1 is an electrode position calibrator. The gauge mark of this instrument coincides with the gauge mark (0 point) of the stereotaxic instrument. The instrument also reads the X,Y, and Z axis coordinates of the electrode carrier and converts them to the scale of the stereotaxic instrument.

Narishige's SN-1N is a versatile, popular stereotaxic instrument used for middle size animals. This stereotaxic instrument is for middle size animals such as cats, small dogs and monkeys. A mouthpiece, eye bar and ear bar are mounted on the U- frame, to enable the zero point of head -- its basic axis -- to be accurately fixed in position, which in turn facilitates fixing of the upper jaw, lower edges of the eye sockets and external ear canals.

A spinal cord fixer is also mounted. The AP frame bar, to which manipulators and the spinal cord fixer are attached, is 18.7mm square in shape, and sufficiently long for several accessories to be attached simultaneously. Loosening the rear fixing bracket in the back allows the U-frame itself to be moved, as well as the unit supported at three points. The instrument body is made of lightweight cast aluminum, and offers wide-ranging versatility, since many kinds of animals can be fixed simply by changing the adapters used for the three support points.

Compact Head Holding Device

Narishige's SRS-A is a head holding device that can be attached to the SR series, and is suitable for newborn rats or mice. As required for small heads, the instrument allows fine adjustment in many places of the head (mouth and nose) fixing section, and the auxiliary ear bar. This lets the operator examine the fixing state and feel whether or not it is correct with the fingertips. Stereotaxic Instrument with Spinal Cord Clamps

Narishige's ST-7 is a versatile stereotaxic instrument for small animals. This compact and stable stereotaxic instrument has been developed for work with small animals, especially rats. An auxiliary ear bar is incorporated for secure fixation of rat ears.

Two different types of clamps are provided for fixing the spinal cord for increased versatility. Experiments on the brain and spinal cord can be performed simultaneously. This instrument also offers a removable center plate for such tasks as fixing a cat spinal cord.

For the AP frame bar, to which manipulators are fixed, a long 18.7mm square bar is provided on either the right or the left side, enabling attachment of the SM-15 and many other kinds of accessories.
