The upright compound microscope is king when it comes to obtaining the highest optical resolution of the smallest cellular structures. By using short-working-distance optics with the highest Numerical Aperture, resolution of about 1 micron is possible.

Our scope includes a complete epifluorescence system to follow gene expression patterns and localize proteins to subcellular components. The system includes a camera port to document your results. Mix and match plan-fluor and plan-phase optics to meet all your needs.

Inverted microscopes combine features of both dissecting and upright microscopes. These stereoscopes use high-resolution objective lenses that are interchangable with upright microscopes, so they, too, are suitable for cellular/subcellular observation. However, the inverted design allows for longer-working-distance condensers to illuminate samples from above. This extra working distance facilitates things like microinjection (for transgenic construction, IVF, and ICSI) and observation of live cells in cell culture dishes and flasks. Thus the inverted microscope is the workhorse of the cell culture laboratory. Our system includes fluorescence and photographic capabilities.
