Scientist Profile: Dr. Eric Wieschaus

Dr. Wieschaus is interested in the genetics of pattern formation during development.  By screening through thousands of Drosophila mutations, he and his lab identify and study maternal and zygotic pathways that establish polarity within the embryo and control cell fate specification.  The Wieschaus Lab is also focused on the molecular biology of downstream cytoskeletal components that manifest the morphogenesis of embryos.  [More...]
