Operations / Project Manager

We are looking for a smart, energetic person to plan, calendar, execute, and oversee all activities of our office and device lab / electronics shop.

Job Functions and Responsibilities include:

• Working closely with CEO to set operational objectives for Tritech and to manage his schedule.

• Supervising office, marketing, accounting and, administrative functions including timely and accurate input and shipping of orders, preparation of quotes and responding to customer inquiries and complaints - frequently providing "hands on" assistance with office tasks.

• Providing strategic direction and oversight of all lab/shop activities, including meeting production and productivity goals, setting and achieving Manufacturing Quality Control and Customer Service standards, resolving problems, determining system improvements and implementing changes.

• Calendaring and tracking all project milestones and worker responsibilities to the half-day, making sure that nothing "falls between the cracks".

• Analyzing and Planning R&D projects and providing other suggestions for revenue enhancement.

• Preparing periodic progress reports for CEO and quarterly worker evaluations.

• Managing vendor relationships and procurement of components at the best prices.

Essential skills and qualifications:

• Exceptional organization and project management skills

• Exceptional memory and attention to details

• Excellent interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with electrical, mechanical, and/or product engineering and/or electronics manufacturing

• Strong basic math skills

• Knowledge of office procedures, including ability to use office software (e.g. All programs in MS Office or OpenOffice, Filemaker Pro, SeaMonkey (Firefox + Thunderbird))

• Strong work ethic and high-level initiative

The successful candidate will be comfortable multi-tasking in a sometimes hectic environment, and can quickly get back to topic when interrupted.  A BS or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, a biology background, advanced computer or programming skills, and formal Project Management experience are pluses.

Smart Energetic Office Manager needed for Biotech Company

We are looking for an office manager with customer service experience, fast typing skills, and excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be efficient at tracking down information on the Internet, and a very quick learner with a technical mind and excellent memory. We prefer someone who has worked in an office for at least a year at the same company.

This job will require learning some technical details about our products. A biology background is a plus, but if you don't have one, you should be able to demonstrate that you have detailed technical expertise about something (like your car, garden, or a hobby). Other pluses are skills in graphic art, web design, and programming.

We have had many applicants with very weak math skills. Applicants must have quick minds, and an understanding of fractions, percents, and elementary school geometry necessary to calculate dimensional shipping weights, etc. Applicants must be computer literate. Candidates should be able to use a Mac and/or PC proficiently with Word and Excel. The successful candidate will have a career-track position that involves talking on the phone with our scientist customers and our vendors, so they must be detail oriented and communicate pleasantly and clearly in English. Tritech runs with an entrepreneurial spirit, and we are looking for people who are excited to work more than 8 hours per day when circumstances call for it, and who can stay at work past 6pm while helping to maintain and create a playful but high-level work atmosphere. Due to a busy and intense work environment, the ideal applicant must be able to multi-task and quickly get back on topic.

Electrical Engineer / Electromechanical Assembly

Tritech Research is a small but well established biotechnology equipment manufacturing company based on the west side of Los Angeles. We are seeking an individual to head up our Engineering department. Because we're a small company, this is a particularly interesting, exciting, and varied position.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about engineering, problem solving, manufacturing, and developing standard operating procedures.

Tritech Research manufactures a broad range of products in the areas of temperature control and gene transfer technology, so a basic knowledge of analog and digital electronics is important. Many of our products are micro controller based, so the knowledge and ability to program microcontrollers in C is a plus. As the head of our Engineering department, you will be interacting directly with the CEO for new-product development projects and supervising one or more electronic technicians available to help you with manufacturing in our device lab.

Another important aspect of the position is establishing and documenting Manufacturing and Quality Control procedures, so the ability to keep good notes and do good technical writing is a must.

However, this is by no means strictly a supervisory position. The successful candidate will have sharp eyes, good hands and be a quick worker when it comes to manufacturing our products. You will also be responsible for maintaining stock of all of the components needed to build the products.

While a formal education in electronics is a plus, the most important thing is experience and maturity. For example, we would consider hiring someone without an engineering degree if that person brings a lot of relevant experience to the position, whereas we would not consider hiring someone with a degree in control systems theory or semiconductor manufacturing if that person had no experience in actual electronic construction and manufacturing.

We have ongoing needs for website design as well as an embedded Systems programmer, so any experience in either of these areas is also plus.
