Narishige's MMD-4 is a three-axis coarse/fine micromanipulator with a dual electrode holder that enables the attachment of two microelectrodes, in addition to standard MMN-33 features such as fine manipulation on the X-axis and rotation mechanism. The two microelectrodes are placed side by side so that they approach the specimen simultaneously. Special holders are provided to position the microelectrodes closer together than would be possible using conventional holders.

Narishige's SM-25C thin micromanipulator which can place several microelectrodes close together. This micromanipulator is for multi-channel recording with stereotaxic instruments, and is designed to be as thin as possible without compromising its stability. A fixing holder is employed to fix the microelectrodes, in the same way as thin plates hold the microelectrodes.
Rotation mechanisms are equipped for all three planes, and the horizontal plane can be rotated with the operating handle. This makes it possible to set the microelectrode angles and easily position the microelectrodes close together. There are three types (A, B and C) in this series, differentiated by the arrangement of their Z-axismovement unit. The C-type features an oil hydraulic, remote controlled movement for stable, accurate operation.

Narishige's SS-1 provides for measuring action potentials from multiple points, e.g. muscle fibers. This unit features microelectrodes and holders to measure action potentials from such places.
Each microelectrode is mounted on a ball joint, which allows full freedom of movement. If used with a U frame of holders, they can be placed at adjacent positions. The holder is equipped with a vertical adjustment handle, so all the microelectrodes can be moved vertically at the same time.

Set-up for injections with ease by inputting an injection time and injection volume while selecting a syringe from the built-in reference table of syringes from Hamilton. A display showing the time-length and volume of the injection allows the user to monitor progress in real-time. The flow-rate is automatically calculated and displayed from the entered value. The digital display shows the injection status at a glance. All operation keys can be operated intuitively by icons based on easy-read size and layout. A connection bar is included for attachment to a stereotaxic micromanipulator. Depending on the orientation and position of the injector, there are two mounting methods: by a screw-in or by a newly added mounting bracket. By adopting a large retainer for plunger button, it enables easier fixation even if the plunger is thin. The syringe can be held with a flip of the dedicated retainer.
Replacement model for the IMS-20.

Compact, versatile, and popular micromanipulator
Narishige's SM-15 is the most popular micromanipulator for stereotaxic instruments, and is attached to the AP bar of the instrument when in use. Coarse movement units with a long working range are attached to both the X-axis and the Z-axis; the latter also has fine movement units attached. The fine movement handle is positioned for ease of use, and jitters from handle operations are not transmitted to the microelectrode tips. Vertical and horizontal rotation mechanisms are both equipped, enabling approaches from any required tilting angle.
