Narishige's EMM-3NV is an electronically-controlled motor-driven ultra-high-precision 3-axis micromanipulator. It can position itself with 0.02 micron precision, yet move a full 4 centimeters in the X, Y, and Z axes, which is about 60% more than the conventional 25mm (1 inch) working area. Developed for use in demanding applications such as electrophysiology, the EMM-3NV incorporates the smooth operability and easy-to-use vernier controls of Narishige's hydraulic systems, but adds extra precision and many useful functions not available with hydraulic micromanipulators. This motorized micromanipulator, designed for use by experienced professionals and novices alike, ensures stability, reproducibility and resistance to drift, particularly that due to temperature changes.
A fluorescent digital display provides excellent visibility. The rack-mountable power supply unit can save space near the microscope. Position readings in the X, Y, and Z axes are calibrated in microns (micrometers, µm) for ease of use.
Narishige's familiar vernier remote control knobs are employed. These control knobs are equivalent in size to those of their well-known hydraulic units, allowing the same operating feel and making it easy to make the switch to motorized control.
The compact control box is easy to position ergonomically, and enables advanced functions such as:- Electrode retraction to a home position, then return to the object of interest
- Storage of, and return to, up to 5 different positions
- Synthesized movement in the "T-axis" (direct movement in the axis of the electrode itself, without separate movement in the X and Z axes).
The drive unit is specially designed to control any vibrations created by the motors and external sources, providing enhanced stability.  The EMM-3NV provides ample working distance of 40mm in the X, Y, and Z axes, yet the drive unit is designed to reduce its size to a minimum.

Narishige's DMA-1510 single-axis motorized stereotaxic micromanipulator incorporates a motor and sensor in the drive unit, enabling more accurate positioning of microelectrodes. This remotely-operated micromanipulator uses a closed-loop control system to feed back the positional information of the drive unit to the control unit, enabling the user to derive the precise coordinates.
Coordinate Calculation This function enables the user to set an arbitrary position as a reference point and the display is capable of showing the distance traveled from the reference point set. Position measurement system saves you the inconvenience of calculating the distance traveled, during and after each experiment.
Serves Various Functions in Various Experiments An arbitrary distance is configurable in both step drive and free drive. The use of the step drive allows you to advance the microelectrode while checking cells, one by one.
